The forecast for today is 32 degrees Fahrenheit with wind from the north at a speed of 10 mph. The dewpoint is 22 degrees Fahrenheit, making the dewpoint depression 10 degrees. Sun for most of the day with a bit of overcast in the afternoon.
This website has a lot of different information such as forecast, past weather, education, news, etc. I like the layout and organization of it, and there is a detailed forecast that gives about a weeks worth of forecast information.
I like the severe weather link on this website (http://www.spc.noaa.gov/) because it's interesting to see what the weather is like in other parts of the country.
The front page of weather.gov shows a map of the US and there is a legend with different colors describing the different types of weather going on.
https://www.accuweather.com/
Some weather events as reported by accuweather.com are:
1. A snow storm heading to eastern US that could cause a wintry mess on Saturday (https://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/snowstorm-to-create-wintry-mess-across-much-of-northeastern-us-saturday-night/70004160)
2. On Valentine's day there was a huge dust storm in Saudi Arabia leaving almost no visibility (https://www.accuweather.com/en/videos/massive-dust-storm-rages-though-saudi-arabian-capital-leaving-nearly-zero-visibility/fmb3rjzte6buaqfehxby5xwchpu0gsux)
This is a map showing areas of rain and snow and the severity of it.

This Jet Stream map is showing high wind speeds in the upper north eastern region.

Three types of ways that one can view the satellite data is Infrared, Visible, Water Vapor and Enhancements.
Pictured above is a GOES-West Water Vapor image that shows the presence and movement of water vapor moisture. The dark/warm colors indicate a lack of upper level moisture. A white or cold color means a high concentration of water vapor. Clouds are also present where the white and cold colors are. Clouds are moisture in the liquid or solid state.
In relation to current national conditions, in the US there is colder weather towards the midwest and eastern region, and there is more cloud coverage, which is shown in the water vapor image.
Weather Links that I find most useful are:
1. https://weather.com/
This site is simple and easy to navigate, but it also has a good amount of information. If I need to quickly look up the current conditions, I like to go to this site first. They also have a "recommended" section that has interesting articles. They have radar and weather maps, https://weather.com/weather/radar/interactive/l/FRXX0076:1:FR that you can filter the legend or pick certain features that you would like to look for specifically.
2. https://earth.nullschool.net/
My pod usually opens this site every morning for weather briefing. It shows the jet stream, any cyclones or hurricanes, wind direction, etc. It's nice if you want to have a global view.
